Home to a picturesque landscape and countless legendary DOCG zones, Piemonte boasts a veritable cornucopia of grape varieties and unique agricultural products. Among these is Vermouth di Torino, exclusively found in the region's capital city and historically just as famous as Barolo or Barbaresco. Created from a marriage of the best local grapes and herbs, this is superior quality Vermouth made for drinking (both as a component to great cocktails and for its own merit).

An originator of Vermouth di Torino, Carlo Anselmo founded his company in 1884 to service a network of taverns owned by his father. For him, quality was everything--only the best Moscato grapes from Canelli could be used, only the finest local herbs and spices employed in the infusion process--and it was this fanatical devotion to quality that drove Carlo's descendants and the Anselmo brand to dominate the Vermouth industry in the early years of the 20th century.

Although production ceased at the historic Anselmo factory during the Second World War, the brand was revived in the 1960s by a group of Turineis investors. Today, the mania for quality is just as strong at Anselmo. A minimum of 30 botanicals are used in the creation of rich, complex Vermouth, and the best cocoa beans are selected for use in their l'Turineis.
