Often overlooked by many American consumers, the growers of Barbaresco have been making incredible wines for generations. Quietly toiling in a hilly landscape that is nothing short of breathtaking, the wineries here cultivate Nebbiolo that is both complex and elegant. Traditionally produced in much smaller quantities than their counterparts in Barolo, these are wines that represent some of the most exciting found in Italy.
Long recognized as a top grower in the Barbaresco commune, the vineyards of Casetta are located in the village of Treiso. Founded in the early 1960s, the property boasts several key cru sites for the production of Nebbiolo which include the famous vineyard of Magallo. All of the wines are aged in a combination of large casks and smaller barriques, creating an elegant style that combines balance and structure with deep fruit flavors dominating the palate.
An exciting producer committed to producing rich and traditionally styled Piemontese
