Antonutti

Located near the village of Udine, Antonutti has long been recognized as a leading force in the region's Friuli Grave sub zone. Founded in 1921 and operated by the Durandi family, the estate has slowly expanded over the last 4 generations to encompass some 50 hectares of vineyards in Colleredo di Prato and Barbeano.

Overview

Tucked into the Northeastern corner of the peninsula, the hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia form a natural amphitheater that faces the Adriatic. This is Italy's premiere growing region for white wine, a region long known for producing complex and elegant examples of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Ribolla Gialla, Chardonnay, and Friulano.

Making the most of a rocky, challenging microclimate, the winery is committed to the region's traditional grape varieties and deeply rooted winemaking traditions. Grapes are harvested by hand, and vinification is undertaken in stainless steel (vini bianchi) or large oak casks (vini rossi). The ensuing products eloquently express the quality potential of the terroir with wines that are both aromatically distinctive and extremely self-confident, some of the best values available from Friuli Venezia Giulia.
