TAVOLO VIGNETO
Cinciano
Located on the district's Western edge near the town of Poggibonsi, Cinciano is an ancient property with equally ancient winemaking traditions.

Overview
The most internationally acclaimed wine production area of Tuscany, Chianti Classico boasts a rich history that can be rivaled by few other growing zones. First outlined by the Grand Dukes of Tuscany in 1716, the zone was expanded in 1922 and 1932 to encompass its current nine villages that straddle the provinces of Siena and Florence. The region has become home to some of Italy's finest Sangiovese, complex wines that can compete with the best Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Originally constructed as a villa during the Roman era, Cinciano was transformed into a fortified village during the time of Charlemagne to protect one of the primary pilgrimage routes to Rome. It became the property of the Bishop of Florence in 1126, and winemaking has been documented on the site from that date. The modern village and winery have been lovingly restored in recent years by the current owners, who have expanded the site to its current 150 hectares size. Now boasting some 40 hectares of olive groves and 24 hectares of vines, the estate includes the famous Camponi Cru, long known as one of the best sites for Chianti Classico production in the DOCG.
