D'Antiche Terre

Born over 40 years ago among the rows of vines that gently rise up the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, D'Antiche Terre is one of the region's most innovative wineries.

Overview

Brilliant, unique, and yet largely unknown to American consumers, the wines of Campania remain some of Italy's best kept secrets. For centuries, growers here have quietly produced structured, expressive wines that exude the terroir of their vineyards and the unchanging bucolic rusticity of the region. They are wines loaded with personality and strong character, wines that over-deliver on the consumer's palate.

Operated by 3 generations of the Ciccarella family, the estate lies between 2 rivers (the Calore and Sabato) and has grown to include 8 key cru sites spread across the region's top 3 DOCG zones - Avellino, Tufo, and Taurasi. The production is exclusively committed to the area's historic grape varieties of Aglianico, Fiano, and Greco (with parcels of the ancient Coda di Volpe thrown into the mix). The ensuing wines are balanced yet bold and fruit driven, some of the best examples of what Irpinia can offer.
