Overview

Adjacent to a medieval tower, the four distinct vineyard sites are exclusively planted to the area’s historic grapes—Spanna di Nebbiolo, Vespolina, Croatina, and Uva Rara. Everything is manipulated by hand, all with a strong desire to promote their unique surroundings. Less than 400 cases are produced per year.

Located northwest of Gattinara and close to Lago di Maggiore, Bramaterra became a DOC in 1979. A small district of only 37 hectares and some 5,000 cases in annual production, the vineyards rest atop what remains of the Valsesian Super volcano. Rich in acidity and minerality, they are some of the Alto Piemonte’s most interesting wines.
