Overview

Located east of Gattinara, Lessona is a small town near Monte Rosa and the town of Biella. A DOC since 1976, the tiny 23 hectares district comprises vineyards planted toward the area's famed varieties - Spanna Nebbiolo, Vespolina, Croatina, and Uva Rara. As with much of the Alto Piemonte, the minimum ageing allowed prior to release is 22 months (at least 12 of those being in barrel).

Committed to sustainability, the winery boasts a unique, 3 level subterranean cellar and employs the gravity method in its vinification process. Constant humidity levels are maintained through the application of a waterfall and natural ventilation system. This allows for minimal stress of the wines and ideal conditions for long aging prior to release.
