Overview

Famous for centuries as Italy's greatest sparkling wine, Franciacorta lies in the heart of Lombardia and the province of Brescia. Comprising nineteen villages, the region has produced stellar wines since the Roman Republic, with evidence of their superior quality being found in the writings of such venerable authors as Pliny the Elder and Virgil. The region was first classified as a DOC in 1967 under the direction of eleven wineries, and later promoted as a DOCG for its sparkling wine.

Driven by the unwavering passion and dedication of its current owner, Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, the estate has done much to modernize its cellar and significantly expand its vineyards (which now encompass some of the best parcels within the district). A true ambassador for the region, Riccardo has also served as President of the Franciacorta Consorzio and President of the Federdoc, the European Union's governing body for winemaking legislation.

The darling of wine critics the world over, this estate proves just how beautiful the wines of Franciacorta can be.
