A famous winery with a legendary and well-deserved reputation for premium quality, Orsolani has come to be recognized as the progenitor of premium quality Erbaluce and its veritable ambassador in the modern age. From its beginnings in 1894 as an inn near Caluso, the estate was the first to produce a serious, complex version of the traditionally light, easy-drinking wine indigenous to Northern Piemonte. It also championed the designation of several cru sites for the varietal, and pioneered the creation of a Metodo Classico Spumante in the 1960s.
At the heart of this estate are the dynamic father / son duo of Gian Francesco and Gian Luigi Orsolani. Under their careful guidance, the winery has grown to some 20 hectares of vines spread between the towns of Caluso, Mazze, and San Gorgio. Committed to the continuation of their ground breaking work with Erbaluce, the family has expanded their efforts into the production of Barbera and Neretto, reviving and improving upon the ancient denominations of Canavese and Carema.
Consistently recognized the world over as the foremost winery in Caluso, Orsolani is extensively reviewed and highly scored, truly a force in vini bianchi with which to be reckoned.
